College students across the country are up for another year of school. Whether your fall semester has already begun or you’re still enjoying summer break, we can all agree a major part of the excitement for the new school year is getting to experiment with the new fall trends.

Ombre‘ is one of the hottest new trends. All the celebrities are wearing it and it happens to be such an easy color to maintain. You can go as drastic and trendy as you feel comfortable with. The hair world borrowed the term ‘Ombre’ from the french word meaning shaded or shading. Ombre’ hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. It is usually achieved using a balayage technique and is ideal for clients looking for a low-maintenance style.

An All-Over Chestnut Brown—For low-commitment ladies looking for a high-impact change this season, opt for a bold single-process. For the fall, I recommend deep, warm chestnut brown—a universally flattering hue that channels the classiest of women.

Golden Highlights—The colder months tend to bring out the pasty in us all. To compliment your complexion without looking like a fake-and-baked beach bum, stick with highlights consisting of coppers, honey tones, and golds. When talking to your colorist, I recommend asking for balayage, which involves free painting the highlights directly onto the hair without using foils. The result is a really natural sun-kissed look that’s more modern. Maintaining highlights is a full-time job, so make sure to arm yourself with the right products. Morrocan Oil Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner will be sure to make your new streaks beautiful and brilliant!

Another great thing about autumn weather is that it isn’t nearly as harsh on your hair as summer or winter, so you can easily try out some new hairstyles without worrying about frizz and static. With the right products, which I can suggest some REALLY awesome affordable products, you can get the best new styling techniques for the fall.

This fall you will see this look on many celebrities wearing Red as it’s a very seasonal trend. The color is in-between a strawberry blonde red and a ginger red; it is the perfect touch of “fun-in-the-sun look’ after the summer months.

Salon prep checklist:

• Bring your inspiration: Photographs and examples of haircolor you love will help you and your stylist explore your color options – and ensure that you both mean the same thing when you say, “honey blonde” or “scarlet red.”

• Know your history: Be prepared to tell your colorist about any prior color services, whether it was highlights last year or a color gloss last month.

• Trust your colorist: Listen to your colorist’s expert opinion. During your color consultation, he or she will consider your desired result, then evaluate your hair’s condition and look at your skin tone and coloring in order to create your custom color formulation.

• Ask questions: If you hear a color term you don’t understand, don’t hesitate to ask your colorist for an explanation. Remember to inquire about maintenance – how often you’ll need to return to the salon for touchups, and how to best maintain your color at home between visits with Morrocan Oil Products.
